App-specific

Applies only to Guang (光). If you use another 2B Studio app, you can skip this section.

Guang reads the date and location that your camera already wrote into your photos, and uses them to light up the cities you have been to. Your photos stay in your iPhone photo library. We do not upload, copy, or back them up, and all statistics are calculated on your device.

Maps (Mapbox)

The map in Guang is provided by Mapbox. When the map is shown, the app requests map tiles from Mapbox. That request carries the area of the map you are currently looking at, along with basic device information such as device model, operating system version, and Mapbox SDK version.

Mapbox telemetry (anonymous usage and location reporting) is turned off by default in Guang. You can turn it on or off yourself at any time inside the app, under You → Privacy → Mapbox anonymous usage statistics (在 App 裡是「我 → 隱私 → Mapbox 匿名使用統計」).

We do not send your photos, the contents of your photo library, or the list of cities the app has found to Mapbox, or to anyone else.

App-specific

Applies only to Passing Notes. If you use another 2B Studio app, you can skip this section.

Passing Notes lets adults send one short handwritten note to a stranger and, if both people choose to, write back. Unlike our other apps, Passing Notes has an account and stores what you write on a server. This section explains exactly what that means.

Your account

You sign in with Apple. We ask Apple for no name and no email address. What we store is the anonymous, app-specific identifier Apple gives us, and the birth year you enter to confirm you are 18 or older. There is no display name, no profile photo, no biography and no location. Other people using the app never see any identifier for you.

What you write

Notes, replies and messages are handwriting. They are stored as the strokes you drew, not as typed text, and they are held on our server so a note can drift to another person and so a conversation can be shown to both of you. Handwritten content may be checked automatically for safety before it is shown to anyone.

Checks made on your device

Before a note is sent, the app reads your handwriting on your device to look for contact details and content that breaks our guidelines. That reading happens entirely on your iPhone or iPad. The recognised text is not saved, not written to any log, and never sent to us.

How long things are kept

• A note that drifts for three days without being picked up comes back to you, and is deleted 7 days later.
• A conversation is deleted 30 days after it ends.
• Content that does not pass a safety check is deleted after 24 hours.
• Content that is reported is kept for 90 days so it can be reviewed, then deleted.

Reporting and blocking

You can report or block from any note, reply or message you receive. A report records which piece of content was reported, who reported it and who wrote it, and keeps that content for 90 days so we can review it. Blocking stops the two of you being paired again. Neither action reveals your identity to the other person.

Deleting your account

Settings → Delete Account permanently removes your account and everything you have written — notes, replies and messages. This cannot be undone.

Where it is stored

Passing Notes data is stored on servers operated by Render. We do not sell it, and we do not use advertising trackers.
